Gameweek 34 Preview & Tips

CAPTAINCY CONTENDERSWe keep on rolling the articles with weekly guests, as Rooneykush takes the stage this week, giving us his thoughts and opinions on this week's top captaincy contenders, as well as clean sheet predictions and picks his ideal XI to start this gameweek.

Let's start from the top:

Sergio Aguero"Go big or go home. That’s the mantra many managers follow during the latter stages of the season when there is little to lose. There are question marks surrounding his game time but the Sunday showdown against Liverpool is one where his manager needs him more than most games and he could just be the difference to setup City on their way to title. With 29 goals and 7 assists in all competitions from 29 appearances there is little doubting Argentine’s pedigree. This is the pick which comes with a risk but could pay off handsomely." This weekend's game vs Liverpool is a crucial one for both sides pushing for the title, and Aguero usually turns up in big games.

Romelu Lukaku"Everton are poised to do well in their two games against Sunderland and Crystal Palace and really test Arsenal for a 4th place finish. The big Belgian has been a nailed on option under Roberto Martinez. Deployed on the right side vs Arsenal in the last game, he still returned a goal, assist and maximum bonus points. He’s a strong and safe contender for armband this week." Rooneykush emphasizes Lukaku's ability to pick up goals and assists from anywhere on the pitch, and the big Belgian seems to be in form.

Yaya Toure"Who would've tipped the Ivorian to be such a crucial part in our FPL seasons. He’s added another part to his game with his incredible shot conversion. This consistency has lead to 18 goals from midfield in the PL, four of which came in his last double gameweek demonstrating his potential. The only downside to this is possible loss of penalty duties with first choice penalty taker Sergio Aguero back in contention. Nevertheless he has defied the odds to produce goods from midfield time and and time again and could do that again this week."

Leighton Baines- "Never bench him, never captain him. This is one of the unspoken FPL rules when it comes to Leighton Baines. Everton have strong clean sheet potential with games against Sunderland and Crystal Palace. Both sides have struggled for goals all seasons. The England international has been outshone by his opposite fullback Coleman this season but there is no doubting his potential. With penalty, free-kicks and corner duties and strong bonus points potential he could turn out to be an astute pick this double." Rooneykush explains the upside of Leighton Baines, with the unpoken rule perhaps being shattered this week due to him having 2 chances to pick up points.

CLEAN SHEET POTENTIAL- This week, Rooneykush fancies four home clean sheets:

Stoke at home to Newcastle

Southampton at home to Cardiff

Everton at home to Crystal Palace

Manchester City at home to Sunderland
